We're on the quiet side of Hakuba, which is the point. It doesn't cost you the mornings: the shuttle that loops the ski fields and the village stops a three-minute walk from our door, and two of the biggest resorts are minutes away by car.
There's no charge for pickup and drop-off between the lodge and JR Hakuba Station or the Happo bus terminal, or for runs to Iwatake and Tsugaike Kogen.
Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagano — about an hour and a half — then the express bus from Nagano Station to the Happo bus terminal, about another hour. Tell us your arrival time and we'll pick you up from there.
Roughly three hours door to door. Timetables change through the season, so check the bus operator's site before you travel.
Parking — eight cars, free for guests. Winter tyres or chains, please.
Dinner is a short hop from here, with or without a car. Echoland — Hakuba's main run of bars and izakaya — is about twelve minutes away and sits on the village shuttle. The Tsugaike base has restaurants and cafés three minutes away. Closer in, Amigo Bar is a five-minute walk, and Hakuba Pizza delivers to the door.
